I’m happy, feeling glad. Got the Gorillaz in a bag
I am in so much pain, but it’s has so worth it. I’m lucky for a handicap person, I can walk, stand, and move around at most times like an un-handicap person. Doing any of those things along with too many stairs are taboo. Tuesday, I spent hours, after a work day that includes a fair amount of walking and standing, going up and down stairs without hand rails (bad design United Center), standing and dancing to the Gorillaz.
It was the second time I’ve seen the group and I loved it even more. Damon Albarn puts on a hell of a show with his guests with the accompaniment the edgy artwork of Jamie Hewlett. Now if you don’t know about the Gorillaz, shame on you. Get a life and a computer to view some of their huge body of work. Albarn mixes musical styles in a melodic style that is purely his. I’ve even noticed a lot to the sound tracks in hip stores and restaurants as being either Albarn’s or imitating his sound.
Peven Everett, Jamie Principle, Bootie Brown and De La Soul joined Albarn on the stage after a warm up from the Internet. The Internet gave credit to the Gorillaz and Albarn for their inspiration in starting their own band. You must see the performances of the guest singers. When De La Soul gave on stage the only thing that was louder and more exuberant than his voice was the approval for the audience as he started Feel Good Inc..
Albarn juggled microphones and instruments through a celebrated playlist that included a song that he wrote in a Chicago hotel, performing it for its only time on Tuesday. Albarn is a prolific song writer, so this was a brilliant treat.
The tour was on the short side, with only two more stops to go. LA and Mexico city. LA is more than just a normal concert, it’s a festival with even more guest performers, art galleries and tatting. The question is who is going to adopt me, give me the airfare, tickets, hotel and rental scooter along with pocket money to shop the galleries and stores?
